Iowa Supervisor Supports Edwards

Excerpt from the Iowa City Press Citizen Newspaper 8/27/07
Campaign volunteer profiles

Terrence Neuzil
• Candidate: Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, a Democrat.
• Day job: Johnson County Supervisor.
• Why he supports Edwards:
This time around, Neuzil said volunteering for the Edwards campaign is a bit about loyalty. He worked for Edwards four years ago and has made friends with the former senator and his family.
"Issues like addressing poverty, health care, a reputation that the United States should be about peace and not about war, his willingness to be very specific about how he wants to address these issues," he said. "And for me, it's a bit about loyalty. I became friends with Mr. and Mrs. Edwards four years ago."
Neuzil said Edwards calls his cell phone, watched football with him and even showered in his house. But more than that, Neuzil said he supports Edwards because he thinks his candidate can go the distance.
"One of the things that really pops out for me, poll after poll, when you match Sen. Edwards with Republican candidates, he comes out on top," he said. "And no other candidate does this."
